Poker shop has provided 150 red, 150 green, 100 black and 100 white chip quantities and colours in the 500 blank sets it has sold since 2003. Blank sets are cheaper and more flexible than numbered because they can all have the same value or you can nominate different values each time you play. Ideally write a note with this so everyone can refer to it.

In a real casino the value of chips usually follow this pattern 1, 5, 25, 100, 500 but it would be rare to see players with lots of 500’s with many 1’s and vice verca so in most situations where different values are required 4 colours is probably enough. Some people can find more than 4 difficult to remember.
